Russell Kane is one cheeky Brit! His Melbourne Comedy Festival show, Smallness, gives us all a bit of perspective as he uses general hilarity to encourage people to live in the present.
Kane has a fantastic array of accents and sharp observations on the nuances between cultures. Much of his show is dedicated to ‘taking the piss’ out of his motherland and various parts England. From the stodgy stiff upper lip of its gentry class to the dating rituals across England’s social spectrum Kane has you smiling from ear-to-ear. He also made me realise that I must be more of an Englishman than I had realised…Laughing at people when they fall over, needing a stiff drink or two before approaching a girl – I thought these were universal traits!
Kane’s background is in UK TV and he is well known to audiences there. He only started his performances half way through the Melbourne Comedy Festival. If you’re looking for a great night out I can’t recommend him highly enough. It was end-to-end laughter from a fantastic entertainer.
