Blogger Bingo

You know an event is good when it has its own hashtag. Enter Nuffnang’s #bloggerbingo.

Nuffnang is a blogging network, and they invited their Melbourne bloggers — and friends — to an evening at The Cullen (one of the Art Series Hotels) on 26 November. We were treated to endless nibbles and free-flowing drinks thanks to the in-room bartender, while hostess with the mostess Super Kawaii Mama MCed the old-style bingo. She even had a ball-spinny thingamabob (not its real name), and we had real, actual bingo cards, the exact same kind the bluehairs use.

Ruki and I had partied a wee bit too much at the Time Out Melbourne Bar Awards the night before. So yours truly stuck to Everyday Sunday‘s non-alcoholic offerings, alongside fellow Bar Awards attendee Melb Dan. They kept our wits sharp as we attempted to win one of the 10 rounds of bingo. Alas, winning was not in the cards for me on Tuesday. Some of the other lucky ladies even walked away with multiple rounds’ worth of prizes!

I knew I was lookin’ good for the Best Dressed award, though, since as I walked up to The Cullen I got cat-called by an adorable group of middle-aged gay men. (“You know you’re looking good when…”) But how could I possibly have won when blogger Teer Wayde showed up in this va-va-voom outfit? Dan and I both picked her to win, and she did, walking off with a gorgeous painting of a woman by Mike McLean that I was hoping to hang on my boyfriend’s living room wall and pretend it was me… Alas once more.

Not scoring a prize or two didn’t matter, though, as I had a heckuva time hanging out with Melb Dan — and walking home with one of the best gift bags I’ve ever seen. Nuffnang’s Community Manager, Valissa, did a bang-up job scoring all kinds of loot, from a bottle of cider to a voucher for The Kodiak Club‘s famous wings.

At #bloggerbingo, everyone was a winner.
