If you are out and about on the 30th April or 28th May 2017 in Edinburgh and you can’t agree with your party where you should eat, then I can offer the perfect solution for you all, based on my visit to a recent fantastic Edinburgh event on 16th April.
Nestled into the Cowgate close to the Royal Mile, the Three Sisters bar will be running their hugely successful Street Food Festival days. Here are a variety of local food artisans serve up a menu of regional delights from all over the world, based within the huge exterior of the Three Sisters bar. So if you fancy curry but your friend fancies Chinese then fear not as you will all be satisfied with the huge array of delicacies queuing around the forecourt to tempt you. There are further alternatives too: Waffles, crab clams, dumplings, haggis, pizza, burgers, and a variety of baked goods are just some of the options available. For the sweet tooth there are cakes, buns, and even alcoholic ice cream. Something for everyone I’m sure you’ll agree.
“But what of the traditional Edinburgh weather”, I hear you cry, “sitting in the drizzle eating my clams isn’t my idea of fun?” Well fear not as the tarpaulin overhead will shelter you, and ample seating means you can enjoy the ambience of an Edinburgh day out without having to duck for cover. There is even a huge outside bar alongside which means once you have a seat all the food and drink you could possibly want is just a few feet away.
The food is fantastic, you can smell the site before you arrive at the Three Sisters, you are licking your lips in anticipation before you even set foot on the festival area. What I particularly liked was the fact the site is well laid out so you didn’t feel everything was too tightly packed in, you don’t have that claustrophobic feeling I have experienced at similar events.
Great food, huge choice, accessible drink, a lovely city centre ambient setting. What’s not to like!
